8 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height–19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Eph 3:18-19 NKJ)
Are you full? What fills your life, your mind, your heart? What are full of? What we are full of on the inside becomes visible on the outside.
As we make a home for Christ in our heart through faith and obedience, and are rooted in His Love, He begins to give us revelation of the greatness of His love; the width, length, depth, and height of His love. Notice that we are to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge. We need knowledge, and we are constantly seeking more. That’s why Bible study is Popular. There is a book written about every book in the bible. There are books about every topic in the bible. There are books written on “every” character in the bible. Commentaries, lessons, sermons, Videos, podcasts, you name it! I can download a book in seconds, in written form, or I can listen to it. Someone else can actually read it to me. The bible is in digital form and it is in audio form! We have more information available to us today than at any other time in history – but do we know more about Him…are we enlightened!
But knowledge isn’t general here, it is specific: There are two different Greek words used here, the word for knowledge means to just know about it in your mind. The word used for “to know” means to “know absolutely”, to feel, perceive, and experience. This means that we are not to just know about God’s love we are to experience it. This kind of love is the most awesome experience we can have; it is the very presence of God in us. This is the greatest pleasure that you are created to experience. Remember? God is Love! As we continue to walk in this kind of love, we become filled with this kind of love; “with all the fullness of God.” Love creates an atmosphere where Christ can dwell. And where Christ dwells, He fills with His Love!
This is God’s desire for you. To dwell in you fully, to fill you to capacity with His love so it will flow in you and through you into the hearts and lives of others!
Before we can extend Christ’s love, we must experience it!
How are you experiencing the love of Christ right now?
